Dear Ethicist,
How do I operate as a professional appraiser and maintain ethical standards?
Yours in USPAP,
Anonymous

Ethics! This is the heart of the matter for appraisers! We are often presented with matters of ethics in our practices, whether it’s the “wearing of two (dealer vs. appraiser) hats,” understanding how to appraise items with title issues, knowing whether you are “competent” to appraise certain material, or having a client confide that her inherited art was acquired by the deceased in a drug deal! Answers to many of our ethical conundrums can be found in USPAP, but sometimes it also takes a little common sense and conversation. If you’ve ever had a question about how to handle a difficult situation, whether one of the above scenarios or something else, this program is for you.

Speakers include:
Hon. Stephen G. Crane, Ret., Justice, Supreme Court, New York County
Beth G. Weingast, AAA, Beth G. Weingast Appraisals

Sabine Wilson, Ph.D., AAA, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

Moderated by:
Nancy G. Harrison, AAA
