Fireman's Fund Lecture:
Many attributions of old master paintings and drawings have been considered and reconsidered repeatedly over the centuries, and each work of art presents its own set of questions. During her lecture, Elaine will examine several case studies of works recently discovered that remind us again that there are always discoveries to be made. Common questions that arise, such as the various levels of studio participation in a work, period and later copies, and the distinctions that must be made between the styles of masters and their students will be considered.
Kindly RSVP for this lecture in advance. No payments will be accepted at the door; all reservations must be made prior to the lecture (and no later than Wednesday, February 26).
