Please join us for “Advanced Issues in Appraising,” the third installment of our Advanced Issues for Appraisers series at Herrick Feinstein, LLP. Panelists include moderator and panelist, Leila Dunbar, AAA, Owner and President of Leila Dunbar Appraisals and Consulting LLC, specializing in collectibles and memorabilia; Jannette M. Barth, Ph.D., Economist and Managing Director, Pepacton Institute LLC; Sylvia Leonard Wolf, AAA, President, Sylvia Leonard Wolf Inc., specializing in American and European Furniture and Decorative Arts and Michael H. Kessel, Counsel, Tax Department, Herrick Feinstein LLP. Panelists will provide a comprehensive presentation on several of the more complicated situations that appraisers face, such as appraising without obvious comparables, extrapolating between Fair Market Value and Retail Replacement Value and blockage.
About the Series
In October of 2013, the Appraisers Association of America launched the Advanced Issues for Appraisers program series with “Legal and Ethical Concerns for Appraisers,” followed by “Appraising and the IRS” in February. The seminars in this series address advanced and complex methodology issues affecting personal property appraisers of the fine and decorative arts. All programs take place at the law offices of Herrick Feinstein, LLP, at 2 Park Avenue in New York City. Lunch is served (included in program fee). Each seminar, offered in both the “traditional” format for those attending in person, and as a taped recording, qualifies for 4 CE credits. This series is organized by Deborah G. Spanierman, AAA.
Our program cancellation policy has changed: As of January 1, 2014, changes or cancellations to your registration must be made at least 5 business days prior to the start of your program in writing (via fax or email). If you do NOT notify us at least 5 business days before your course, you will be charged a $50 administration fee.
