Join Daile Kaplan, Swann Galleries’ Director of Photographs & Photobooks and Deborah Rogal, Associate Director, on a tour of the house’s auction preview.

Enjoy light refreshments and participate in a lively discussion about connoisseurship, the photography market and its relationship to contemporary art, and the ins and outs of the diverse sales held at Swann.

We will examine everything from rare cased images, to vernacular objects, to important 20th-century master photographs, and share insights on the widening market for photography to include photo journalism, scientific imagery, personal albums, snapshots, and more. These exciting new territories in the market challenge our methods for evaluation as well as traditional art market ideals.
