Ask the Experts 2013 - 2014: Client Services from Four Perspectives
The Associates Steering Committee organizes this annual professional development seminar series to provide participants with an opportunity to discuss timely and relevant topics with seasoned professionals. The theme of the 2013-2014 Ask the Experts Series is “Client Services from Four Perspectives.” The goal of the series is to examine how appraisers in different situations collaborate and work with other appraisers and allied professionals and also to explore various career options. Each of the sessions includes a presentation by an expert working in one of four related areas within the field of appraising fine and decorative arts. The speakers are: Betty Krulik, a private dealer (and the new president of the Appraisers Association of America); Nicholas Lowry, an auction house specialist; Lisa Austin, an art advisor; and Susan Hunter, an independent appraiser. Issues that will be addressed include:

       •  Client relations
       •  Conflicts of interest
       •  Inventory management tools
       •  Conservation issues
       •  Organization, shipping and handling of property
       •  And More!

Each speaker will address these topics from the unique perspective of his or her professional role and personal experience. Seminars take place at the Appraisers Association's office in New York City unless otherwise noted. While all are invited to attend, this series is designed specifically for Associates by Associates!
