Christopher Engle began his career in the art world in 2000 at the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, California. He served in many capacities during his tenure there, and curated two major exhibitions in addition to assisting with numerous others. One of his primary roles was to catalogue the museum’s collection of over 14,000 objects from across Asia. In 2006, he left Pacific Asia Museum, and accepted a role as Specialist in the Chinese Works of Art Department at Christie’s, New York. He eventually became Co-Head of Department, and subsequently International Director of Chinese Art. He left Christie’s in the fall of 2015 to start his own business, working primarily with Chinese, Japanese and Himalayan art from the Neolithic through modern eras.

Katie Halligan brings 20 years of experience to the field of fine art appraising after working at international and regional auction houses and galleries where she was responsible for the sale of numerous private and institutional collections. Katie worked with the estates of artists Conrad Buff and Arthur Dominique Rozaire and has written and lectured on various California artists and movements. Focusing on 19th and 20th Century European and American fine art, with particular specialization in California and Western art, she provides collection management and acquisition advising services as well as confidential and professional appraisal reports for insurance, estate tax and charitable gift donations.

Thomas Mason, AAA

Thomas Mason is an experienced fine arts appraiser located in Houston, Texas. He has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Art History from Cambridge University in England and went on to earn a certificate in fine and decorative arts from the Sotheby's Institute in London. Thomas has more than seven years of experience at Sotheby's Auction House in New York, where he worked as a specialist in modern and contemporary prints, impressionist and modern paintings, and as a fine arts generalist.  Thomas is a certified appraiser of prints but also appraises all fine arts, decorative arts and furniture.

Brian Shannon is the founder and principal of BMS Art, an art collection services company based in Chicago.  The firm specializes in developing protection strategies for private clients and family office groups through valuation, risk management, collection management, asset planning and market transactions. He is a specialist in Modern and Contemporary Art and launched the firm in 2015.  Prior to this, Brian worked as an art expert at AXA Art Americas and Chubb Insurance. He holds an MA in Art Business from the Sotheby’s Institute, London; a Certificate in Art Law from the Institute of Art and Law, London; and a BA in Business with Art History from Washington University in St. Louis.
 
Anthony Wu, AAA

Anthony Wu is one of Canada’s most knowledgeable and experienced Chinese Art specialists. Before forming his art-consulting firm, he was the Asian Art department head for ten years at two of Canada’s largest regional auction houses. Currently based in Toronto, he is an Asian Art consultant, researcher and appraiser for various auction houses, museums, and private clients in Canada and the USA. Anthony has a B.A. and M.A. in Art History from the University of Toronto. He is also a regular contributor to Orientations Magazine in Hong Kong and the Asian Art blogger for the NYC-based auction platform Bidsquare.com.

Frank Born has been a private dealer since 1987, specializing in Post-War and Contemporary Art. His institutional clients include The Art Institute of Chicago, The J. Paul Getty Museum, The Seattle Art Museum, The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and The Israel Museum, Jerusalem. In 2017 his firm, Frank Born Arts, added appraisal services and litigation consultation to its list of services. Mr. Born has a BA degree from Duke University and pursued graduate art history studies at Washington University in St. Louis.
 
Claire Giblin

Claire Giblin is the founder and owner of Atlantic Appraisal Services LLC, specializing in Post War, Contemporary and Emerging Art.  She provides appraisal reports (including Insurance, Estate and Charitable Donation),  and consulting services to clients concerning collections acquisitions, management, sales, and development.  She is a fine artist (painting, photography, printmaking) and served as Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Philips Museum of Art at Franklin & Marshall College for seven years, where she produced exhibitions, researched and wrote curatorial essays for the Museum’s exhibitions program, its collections, and for publication.  She earned her Certificate in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts at New York University in 2011.
 

Susan L. Halper

Susan L. Halper is a fine art dealer/broker/advisor in her own firm which she initiated in the 1980s.  Prior to that she worked at The Guggenheim Museum where she launched many museum careers through her management of the Internship Training Program. Additionally, she initiated Guggenheim Tours Abroad with the Museum’s acquisition of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.  Following her years there, she managed an increasingly developing collection of contemporary art, also in New York City.  Susan completed New York University’s certificate program in fine arts appraisals in 2015.
 
Amanda McConaha

Amanda McConaha holds a B.A. in art history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She has over a decade of experience working as a curator, director of acquisitions, an art specialist, and a liaison for a variety of artists. Miss McConaha has extensive experience in the art appraisal industry specifically regarding appraisals for insurance. Although her specialty is California and Western Art, she also has experience appraising contemporary and modern works of art.
