Join us at NY Showplace Design and Antique Center for the second seminar of the  2016-2017 Ask the Experts Series! 

As an appraiser, many of your clients look to you, the expert, for guidance on how to sell some or all of their property. What should your clients do with their, often very good, mid-level property that an auction house won’t take? Knowing about and offering options can be an invaluable service for you to offer.

In this seminar lead by Amos Balaish, Owner, Andrea Baker, Manager, and Lisa Ramaci, AAA, Senior Cataloguer and Certified Member of the Appraisers Association, we will discuss how an estate buyer like Showplace may be the perfect solution!  


Learning Objectives:

•   Learn what estate buyers do and what services they offer

•   Discuss how to manage client needs and expectations when dealing with an estate buyer

•   Address when it’s more beneficial to sell property outright, rather than sending it to an auction house

This will be an interactive seminar and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and to preview Showplace’s March 5th auction. Attendees will also receive a catalogue. Champagne and cheese reception to follow.


About Showplace:

Showplace is a 23-year-old establishment consisting of four floors filled with some 250 dealers which runs bi-weekly sales of 300+ lots consisting solely of vintage and antique items purchased directly from estates.

Showplace visits the estate and makes an offer on all of the items they consider suitable for their audience, with immediate payment if the offer is accepted. There are no fees and no wait until the items are put up at auction. Showplace will also perform broom sweeps, completely clearing the space of lesser-value, non-saleable articles.

As is standard industry practice, mediators between Showplace and clients are entitled to an Introductory Commission for initiating contact.

Email confirmations will be sent upon receipt of payment; registration accepted only with payment.

Notice of cancellation must be sent in writing, at least one week before the program in order to get a full refund. Cancellation notices received within one week of the program will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.
