Join the Appraisers Association at Artworks Foundry for the next installment of the West Coast Study Series! Founded in 1975, Artworks Foundry is one of the leading foundries on the west coast, having worked with such renowned artists as Peter Voulkos, Ruth Asawa, Stephen de Staebler, Nathan Oliveira, and Jun Kaneko, among many others. The foundry specializes in the “lost wax” technique. During this program, Artworks Foundry will take the group through each department and demonstrate how an original sculpture becomes a finished bronze, including an opportunity to view the pouring of molten bronze. A question and answer session will take place upon completion of the tour. Learn more about Artworks prior to your visit at Immediately Following the program, we will dine at Riva Cucina ( Lunch is not included in the program fee. Members earn 1.5 C.E. credits for this program.

Note: Open-toed shoes are not allowed and all visitors will be provided with a hard hat (required wear). Artworks Foundry is part of the Berkeley Arts Complex. Ample parking is available. The Foundry is toward the back of the complex.

Note: All payments, reservations and cancellations must be made at in advance. No money will be collected at the door. Email confirmations will be sent upon receipt of payment; registration accepted only with payment. 

As of January 1, 2014, changes or cancellations to your registration must be made at least 5 business days prior to the start of your program in writing (via fax or email). If you do NOT notify us at least 5 business days before your course, you will be charged an administration fee. For this program, the cancellation fee is $15.

About the West Coast Study Series: The Appraisers Association’s West Coast Study Series focuses on specific areas of interest to appraisers working in the western region, and includes lectures, study days and other programs. These events are part of the Appraisers Association’s ongoing commitment to continuing education, and attendance will count towards the Association’s continuing education requirements.
