Wendy Cromwell holds a Masters degree in Modern Art from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Smith College. Prior to founding Cromwell Art, Wendy assumed many roles in the art world, from curating gallery shows to managing and appraising a Fortune 500 corporate art collection. She has extensive experience as an auction specialist, having studied, handled, and sold key works of Post-War and Contemporary art over a nearly ten year period. Wendy is also an active and vital participant in both the field of art advisory and the arts community at large. She is the former President and a current Board member of the Association of Professional Art Advisors (APAA).

Mary Kohnke founded Ex Libris Appraisals, LLC, in 2016. She served as Senior Specialist of Rare Books and Manuscripts at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, as well as Director of Consignments and auctioneer, from 2008-2016. Based in Chicago, Illinois, Mary specializes in rare books, autographs, archives and historical memorabilia, with attention given to large collections. She works closely with major institutions in the Midwest and nationwide and acts as a consultant to several industry leading firms. She holds her Master of Art, in Art History, from the University of Notre Dame, with a focus on Byzantine studies.

Susan McDonough has over twenty years of experience in the visual arts. Her specialized areas and periods of interest include Postwar, Contemporary & Emerging Art (Certified), California and Western Art (Certified), American Art, Latin American Art, Prints and Photography. She is the president of McDonough Fine Art Appraisals, LLC, a private practice that provides USPAP-compliant appraisals, research, and professional opinions of value for paintings and sculpture. She is a current Member of the Board of Directors of the Appraisers Association of America.

Dena Rigby has worked in the Seattle fine art community since 1995. Her focus is on the life span of art in a collection, with clients throughout the United States. Rigby has worked with private, corporate, institutional, and civic collections, as well as architectural firms, developers, galleries, and artists nationally. Her work has been in Post-war, Contemporary, and Emerging art  of all media, with a specialization in Modern and Contemporary Glass, having worked with the most renowned artists in this arena for over twenty years.  Rigby earned a BFA in Art History from the University of Florida and has studied Finance in the Art Market at Sotheby’s Institute (London).

Emily Casden

Emily Casden holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from Williams College and a master’s degree in art history from Hunter College (CUNY), with a focus on late-nineteenth and twentieth-century modern art. Emily started her professional career as a junior curator at The Jewish Museum, where she worked on a variety of exhibitions over her seven-year tenure. Shortly thereafter, Emily joined Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers, first as an Appraisal Assistant in the Furniture & Decorative Arts Department, and then as manager of Doyle’s Hayloft division. Emily started Avant-Garde Appraisals & Art Advisory in 2017.

Valerie A. Cooper founded Picture That, LLC in 2002 and provides art appraisal, advisory, curatorial and collection management services.  The firm also sources artwork for corporations, healthcare organizations and academic institutions nationwide.  Prior to Picture That, Valerie spent 15 years as VP with Goldman Sachs where she curated Diversity & Inclusion exhibitions. Valerie has a BS from Morgan State University; an MBA from Columbia University; and a Certificate from New York University in Fine Arts Appraisal Studies. Valerie is also an Adjunct Professor and teaches African American Art History.

Mary Spencer Craddock Scurry, known as Pence, received a Master’s degree in Fine and Decorative Art from Sotheby’s Institute and the University of Manchester in London and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Virginia. She worked at Charlton Hall Auctions in Columbia,SC, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA, Through the Looking Glass, in Charlotte, NC, and taught art history at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, SC. Pence is accredited by the Appraiser’s Association of America and is USPAP compliant. She currently serves on the Collections Committee to the Board of the Columbia Museum of Art. Her broad background and experience in both the fine and decorative arts led Pence to become a both a consultant and appraiser. She helps individuals and attorneys with appraisals for estate, donation, and insurance purposes. Pence also works with clients to equitably divide estates among family members and to buy or sell items privately and at auction.
